St Peter’s is a traditional Anglo-Catholic Forward in Faith Church in the Episcopal care of the Bishop of Beverley. Mass is on Sunday at 10.30am, with additional services as announced particularly during Lent, Easter and Advent. All are very welcome, whether you are new to Christianity, new to our tradition, or a regular Anglo-Catholic looking for a familiar place to worship.

The church is often described as peaceful and the perfect place for prayer/reflection leaving the busy world outside. Candles are always available to remember loved ones or for that special prayer. Stations of the cross line the chancel and are used for prayerful journey during Lent. You may even catch the faint smell of the incense we use at Mass, adding to the traditional feel as you sit in our wooden pews.

We hold free organ concerts on the second Saturday of every month from 10am – 1pm which feature a changing range of talented musicians. Our separate community room hosts a range of groups including the endangered craft of lace making, and events including Friendly Thursdays on the 3rd Thursday of the month 11am – 3pm, and our popular 1940s events.
Built in 1768 by the Wright family, we are Grade II listed and have the original, working, 1769 Whitehurst clock mechanism on display, along with many other original features. There is a display of research about three chaps from St Peter’s who lost their lives during the Second World War. We take part in the Heritage Open Days with a history exhibition and changing displays each year. Research into the church’s history is ongoing.
